Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt selected to lead the Environmental Protection Agency

12-08-2016

It is expected that President-elect Donald Trump will select Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

The person revealing this information who is close to Pruitt was unauthorized to speak publicly about Trump’s pick and request anonymity.

Pruitt has a history of fighting against environmental regulations and had publicly criticized the EPA for engaging in what he calls an “activist agenda”

Oil and mining representatives have cheered Pruitt’s possible selection.

However environmentalists are outraged, citing Pruitt’s close ties to the oil industry.

Pruitt has also been very vocal about his skepticism of climate change, and in an op-ed piece for the National Review earlier this year, wrote the debate over global warming is “far from settled.”
