Description

Crambidia lithosioides, the dark gray lichen moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. It was described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1898. It is found in the United States from North Carolina to Florida and from Kentucky to Mississippi. The wingspan is 12–18 mm. Female have dark brownish-gray forewings with paler veins and pale yellow strip along the costa. Males have pale grayish-brown forewings with paler veins. They lack the pale costal strip. Adults are on wing from May to October. The larvae feed on lichens.
