Matrona basilaris is a dragonfly species from the family of the damselflies (Calopterygidae),suborder damselflies (Zygoptera).The species is on the Red List of the IUCN as no threat,evaluation year 2007.The scientific name of the species was first validly published in 1853 by Selys.
