Acanthagrion cuyabae is a dragonfly species described by Philip Powell Calvert in 1909. Acanthagrion cuyabae is part of the genus Acanthagrion and the family of damselflies. The IUCN categorizes the species globally as viable. No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life. Acanthagrion is a genus of damselflies. It is the dominant genus of damselfly at ponds and lakes in the Neotropics but A. quadratum is the only one found in North America. They are commonly known as Wedgetails because of the raised tip of the abdomen.
