Comadia redtenbacheri

Description

Comadia redtenbacheri is a moth in the family Cossidae. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Mexico and southern Texas. The length of the forewings is 12–14 mm for males and 13–16 mm for females. The forewings are brown with a white strip from the wing base to near the apex. The hindwings are grey-brown. Adults have been recorded on wing from April to May and in September. The larvae feed on the succulent leaves of the maguey and Agave salmiana. Young larvae are pale reddish, becoming carmine in later instars.
