Asceles scabra is an insect species that was first described by Carl Stål in 1877. Asceles scabra is part of the genus Asceles and the family Diapheromeridae. No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life. Asceles is a genus of Phasmatodea in the family Diapheromeridae. The scientific name of this genus was first validly published in 1908 by Redtenbacher.
