Gelechia ophiaula is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It is found in Argentina and Paraguay. The wingspan is 16–17 mm. The forewings are ochreous-yellow with dark bronzy-fuscous markings. There is an elongate-triangular blotch along the basal two-sevenths of the costa, and a semi-oval blotch from four-sevenths to six-sevenths, the costal edge between these marked with four very short oblique strigulae. A large triangular blotch extends on the dorsum from two-sevenths to the tornus, and reaches more than half across the wing, its posterior angle extended as a slender streak along the termen to the apex.
