Chrysocercops neobalanocarpi

(Chrysocercops neobalanocarpi)

Description

Chrysocercops neobalanocarpi is a moth of the family Gracillariidae. It is known from Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The wingspan is 5.3-5.5 mm. The larvae feed on Neobalanocarpus heimii. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine usually has the form of a linear-blotch. It occurs on the upper surface of the leaves. The blotchy part of the mine is blister-like as seen in most species belonging to Acrocercops-group, and is placed on a space between lateral veins unlike that of other Chrysocercops species. Pupation takes place outside of the mine.
