Archilestes californicus, the California spreadwing, is a species of spreadwing in the damselfly family Lestidae. It is found in Central America and North America. The IUCN conservation status of Archilestes californicus is "LC", least concern, with no immediate threat to the species' survival. The population is increasing. The IUCN status was reviewed in 2017. Archilestes is a genus of damselflies in the family Lestidae. Like most members of Lestidae, Archliestes rest with their wings spread out. This genus has eight species, the great spreadwing and California Spreadwing are the most common and widespread.
