Cannaphila insularis, the gray-waisted skimmer, is a species of skimmer in the family Libellulidae. It is found in the Caribbean, Central America, and North America. The IUCN conservation status of Cannaphila insularis is "LC", least concern, with no immediate threat to the species' survival. The population is stable. Cannaphila is a small Neotropical genus of dragonflies in the family Libellulidae. They are commonly called narrow-winged skimmers. One species, C. insularis, occurs in North America. There are three species.
