Melitaea phoebe

Description

Melitaea phoebe, the knapweed fritillary, is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found in the Palearctic ecozone, except the northernmost locations. It used to include Melitaea telona, recently revalidated as a distinct cryptic species.
