Cryptophasa pseudogramma

Description

Cryptophasa pseudogramma is a moth in the Xyloryctidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1930. It is found in New Guinea. The wingspan is about 48 mm. The forewings are whitish with scattered dark fuscous scales, the dorsal half suffused whitish-yellowish, the veins posteriorly corrugated. The costa is slenderly whitish-ochreous, the edge dark fuscous towards the base. There is an undefined patch of greyish suffusion with irregular dark fuscous irroration along the dorsum from near the base to four-fifths. There is a fine dark fuscous dash in the disc towards the base. The first discal stigma is represented by a similar dash, the second by a dark fuscous ring, the plical by a small dark fuscous ring or spot nearer the second than the first. A vague irregular angulated shade of dark fuscous irroration is found beyond the cell. The hindwings are light grey, paler towards the base.
