Amblyptilia punctidactyla

Description

Amblyptilia punctidactyla is a moth of the family Pterophoridae that can be found from Europe (especially from the United Kingdom) to Japan. The wingspan is 18–23 millimetres (0.71–0.91 in). Adults are on wing in July, and again from September, hibernating until the following spring. There are two generations per year in western Europe. The larvae feed on various herbaceous plants, including Stachys sylvatica, Aquilegia vulgaris, Geranium pratense, Myrica gale and Primula species. They feed on the flowers and unripe seeds.
