Description

Eucosma cana, the hoary bell, is a species of moth of the family Tortricidae. It is found in China (Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan, Guangdong, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang), Japan, Central Asia, Russia, Kazakhstan and most of Europe. The wingspan is 16–23 mm. The ground colour of the forewings is buffish or greyish with darker longitudinal streaks. Adults are on wing from June to August. The larvae feed on the flowerheads of Cirsium, Carduus and Centaurea species and can be found from August to May.
