Abrocoma bennettii is a mammalian species described by Waterhouse 1837.Abrocoma bennettii is part of the genus Abrocoma and the family chinchilla rats.The IUCN categorizes the species globally as viable.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.Wilson & Reeder (2005) distinguishes between two subspecies.The species is found in Chile only.It occurs in the central parts of the country and reaches 2,000 meters above sea level.The habitat consists of bush forests.
