Description

The Ridgway buzzard ( Buteo ridgwayi ( Cory,1883 )) is a bird of prey belonging to the Accipitridae family,endemic to the Dominican Republic.It is a buzzard medium size (36-41 cm in length) with back greyish-brown,belly gray,thighs reddish,and tail in black and white bands;the legs and the base of the rostrum are yellow.A discrete sexual dimorphism is observed : the male is smaller (330-350 g) and more gray than the female,which can reach 360-420 g.
