The Vari ( Circus cinereus ),also known as Varil,harrier ashy or ashy hawk is a species of bird falconiforme the family Accipitridae typical of South America that is from Chile in January to southern Brazil and from Patagonia Argentina to Colombia.There are no known subspecies In Argentina it is found from Ushuaia to La Quiaca,and from Mendoza to Las Toninas,but with different densities.The diet of this bird corresponds to insects (33.6%),birds (27.2%),mammals (19.1%) and arachnids (1%).Of these groups,birds and mammals are the ones that contribute most in terms of biomass in the diet of the varil
