Description

The male has a variegated plumage light brown,dark brown,the chest is reddish-brown while the head is of a shade tending to pink: a light brown variegated with a variety of brown,the male's eyes are yellow;the females are instead of more uniform coloration always variegated light and dark brown,the eyes are hazel.What distinguishes the species is the large black spatula-shaped beak.The average size is between 45-56 cm in length,the weight is 500-600 grams,the average life expectancy is 20-30 years.
