(Chloephaga rubidiceps)
The red cauquén ( Chloephaga rubidiceps ) is a species of bird anseriforme of the family Anatidae endemic of South America. It has two isolated populations, one in Malvinas Islands and another continental one of which the last hundreds remain.Current studies could conclude that both populations could be different species. If this were the case, the continental species would immediately become critically endangered.
