The northern rorcual ( Balaenoptera borealis ),also known as Rudolphi rorqual and rorcual sei,is a species of cetacean,mycenae of the Balaenopteridae family.After being hunted on a large scale in the southern seas during the middle of the 20th century,when about 200,000 specimens were killed,the fin whale is now an internationally protected species.
