(Cephalophus dorsalis)
70-100 cm long and weighing 15-24 kg,the bay cephalopho has a rather sturdy constitution, with a red or yellowish-brown coat sprayed with white.Along the back, from the nose to the root of the tail, runs a dark line, and sometimes on the belly there is another midline of the same color. The short front legs and long hind legs are black or dark brown. The head, wider and flattened than that of other cephalopters, has a short snout and eyes rather high up.This latter peculiarity is due to an enlarged cheek muscles,as an adaptation to a more efficient chewing action. The bahia cephaop has hornsconical, very short, and large odoriferous glands placed under the eyes, which are thought to be used to mark the territory
