(Nimbaphrynoides occidentalis)
Two subspecies are distinguished by Sandberger,et al.2,Nimbaphrynoides occidentalis occidentalis whose males measure up to 18.0 mm and females up to 20.5 mm occupy the northern part of the massif and Nimbaphrynoides occidentalis liberiensis whose males measure up to 22.4 mm and females up to at 28.7 mm occupies the southern part of the massif.The latter had been described as a separate species by Françoise Xavier in 1979.Sandberger,et al.on the basis of the few genetic differences the subspecies treat.
