(Carcharhinus brevipinna)
The carcass shark ( Carcharhinus brevipinna Müller & Henle,1839 ) is a species of shark of the genus Carcharhinus and of the family Carcharhinidae. They are found in warm tropical and temperate waters around the globe, except for the eastern part of the Pacific Ocean. They inhabit both coastal and offshore waters,up to a depth of 100 meters, even if they prefer shallow depths. One could define a larger version of the edged shark ( Carcharhinus limbatus) because of the slender body of the elongated snout and the fins marked by black spots on the tips. However,we distinguish it from the shark edged to the first dorsal fin, with a different shape and placed further back, and also for the black tip of the anal fin (in adults). At most this shark reaches lengths of about 3 meters.
