Cavia intermedia or Sailor of Santa Catarina is a species of Rodents of the family of Cavidés.Endemic to the small archipelago of the Moleques do Sul islands off Florianópolis in the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil,the species is considered critically endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature,which has Listed as one of the 100 most endangered species in the world by IUCN in 2012.
