Assam macaque

Description

The Assam macaque (Macaca assamensis,McClelland,1840) is a primate of the Cercopithecidae family.The length of the body is between 50 and 75 cm and the weight between 10 and 15 kg for males and between 8 and 12 kg for females.The tail,with a length between 20 and 40 cm,is relatively short.The hair of the body is short and varies in color between the dark brown of the dorsal side and the yellowish of the ventral side.The snout is protruding,glabrous and reddish.
