(Rusa timorensis)
The man-made sambar ( Rusa timorensis de Blainville,1822 ),also known as Java sambar,is a species of deer native to Southeast Asia. The manned sambar is closely related to the sambar, but is much smaller.Measuring 140-185 cm in length,it is tall at the withers 83-110 cm and weighs 50-115 kg;the males are considerably larger than the females. Its rather shaggy coat is gray-brown.The antlers, present only in males,as in almost all Cervidi species, are relatively large and have three tips each.It is easily recognizable by the large ears, the tufts of light hair above the eyebrows and the boxes, which give the impression of being too developed compared to the size of the body.
