Description

Chaenocephalus aceratus,the blackfin icefish,is a species of crocodile icefish known from around Bouvet Island and the northern Antarctic Peninsula where it occurs at depths of 5 to 770 metres (16 to 2,526 ft).This species grows to a length of 72 centimetres (28 in) TL.It is of minor importance to commercial fisheries.This species is the only known member of its genus.
