Description

The tantalum Yellow-billed Stork (Mycteria ibis (Linnaeus,1766)) is a bird of the family Ciconiidae,widespread in Africa.It is a medium-sized stork,97 cm long and weighing 2.3 kg in males and 1.9 kg in females.The plumage is white-pink,with black wings and tail;the beak,yellow,is blunt and curved at the end.The juveniles are brownish-gray and have the beak of the same body color,faded orange face and brownish legs.It has a very similar appearance to that of the colorful tantalum (Mycteria leucocephala),which however lives in Asia.
