Description

The stabbed pigeon of Mindoro ( Gallicolumba platenae ) is a species of columbiform bird of the family Columbidae endemic to the Philippines.Mindoro's stabbed pigeon is a bird with short tail and terrestrial habits.It has a body length of about 30 cm.3 The upper part of its head and neck are grayish with green iridescences.The plumage of the rest of its upper parts is grayish brown with red or violet iridescence,except for the tail that is greenish.Its lower parts,including cheeks and throat,are white,although they have a small orange spot in the center of the chest.Its legs are red.
