Description

The pigeon vinosa ( Patagioenas subvinacea ) is a species of columbiforme bird of the Columbidae family that lives from the south of Costa Rica to the west of Ecuador,Bolivia and central Brazil.It belongs to a small subgenus,Oenoenas,within Patagioenas,which looks quite simple and has characteristic calls.Like the other members of its genus,it was previously included within the genus Columba,until the Patagioenas genus was recognized.
