Description

The Guardatinaja,Mountain Paca (Cuniculus taczanowskii) is a species of histricomorphic rodent of the family Cuniculidae.Live in the cloud forests of the northern Andes in the territories of Colombia,Venezuela,Ecuador and Peru,at more than 2,000 meters above sea level.It is a large rodent between 30 and 60 cm,prefers cold mountain weather and is similar to a rat,but much larger,brown or gray fur with lighter patches,eyes "come out" practically black or blue,its tail is usually short maximum of two cm and its legs have claws that can function to hold food while eating,is literally alone and is considered as an independent animal.The female is usually 10 or 20 cm larger than the male.
