Description

The Azara aguti (Dasyprocta azarae Lichtenstein,1823) is a small rodent belonging to the Dasyproctidae family,widespread in South America.It is about 35 cm long,with females a little larger than males;the back is covered with black spots while the rest of the body is light brown;the snout is orange.It weighs just 4 kg and is equipped with short and flexible legs that allow quick shots to capture prey.
