Description

The scarlet-collared flowerpecker (Dicaeum retrocinctum) is a member of the family Dicaeidae,about 10 cm long and is endemic to the Philippines.The upperparts are black with a slate blue gloss and scarlet collar across the upper back.The throat and upper breast are black with a small red patch on the throat;the belly is white with a scarleet ventral stripe bordered with black.It is threatened by habitat loss.
