Description

The Oaxacan mountain sparrow 2 ( Aimophila notosticta ) is a species of bird in the family Passerellidae.It is a Mexican endemism of very limited and rare distribution. It measures approximately 15 cm in length.It is a sparrow with a black bill,brown with a dark back and wings,with reddish and grayish tones,and a grayish-brown tail.On the head there is a reddish crown divided in two by a thin gray line,and which thins at the nape of the neck.The face and sides of the neck and neck are gray,with a reddish eyelash.The loreal area and the throat are white,but in the latter there is a pair of black "whiskers".The chest is gray.
