Description

The saconian sparrow of LeConte ( Ammodramus leconteii ) is a species of migratory bird of the family of the Passerells.It is distributed in Canada and the United States.It is a small sparrow whose back parts are dark brown and clear;The chest is light brown and the belly is white,with thin stripes on the sides.The head is large and flat,with a dark crown divided into elc by a clear line.The face is orange with a gray patch on each cheek.The beak is relatively large,dark,and the tail is short.Its habitat in reproductive season are pasture areas in Canada (from the center of the country to the province of Quebec ) and in the north-center of the United States.The nest is an open cup built between dry grass or directly on the ground.These birds migrate in the winter to the southeastern United States.They feed by looking for food in the soil,mainly insects and seeds.
