The chingolo Nelson ( Nelson's Sparrow ),also known as sabanero Nelson,is a species of bird passerine family Passerellidae.It breeds in the swamps of the Atlantic coast of Canada and Maine,the Canadian prairie region,a coastal strip in the south of Hudson Bay and the north-central United States.During the winter it migratesto the coasts of the southeastern United States.Its name commemorates the American naturalist Edward William Nelson.
