Description

The atlapetes of spectacles or cabeciamarilo finch (Atlapetes flaviceps) is a species of bird of the Passerellidae family,endemic to Colombia.Head yellow to olive.Throat,chin,eye ring,ear are always bright yellow.The rest of the plumage is of dark yellow color with the superior faces of the wings and the dark olive tail.3 Measures on average 18 cm in length.In 1987 the first photograph of a live specimen of this species was published,which was widely distributed.When the species was rediscovered in the type locality in 1989,it was observed that some birds had olivácea head (as seen in the picture),but adult males have yellow head,largely as in the original description of this species.
