Description

The capuchu ( Emberiza schoeniclus ) is a bird of the Emberizidae family that inhabits the Güelgues de Bona part of Europe and the north of Asia.In Spain,the first census of this bird was made in 2005,resulting in fewer than 400 breeding pairs.In the Iberian Peninsula,three subspecies can be found: Emberiza schoeniclus schoeniclus,common in Western Europe and present as wintering;the southwestern Emberiza schoeniclus lusitanica,considered endangered critically and the eastern Emberiza schoeniclus witherbyi,considered in danger,this species is considered SEO Ave del Añu 2009.
