Description

The copper- colored jacamara ( Galbula pastazae ),also called copper- breasted jacamar and pecicobrizo jacamar,is a species of piciform bird of the family Galbulidae,found in the forests of the slopes of the Andes,between 600 and 1,700 m of altitude,in Colombia,Ecuador and Peru.It measures on average 24 cm in length.Back iridescent green,more bluish in the crown;metallic green chest;belly and tail brick.Long,almost straight and black beak;orange eye ring.The female has a notorious red patch on her throat.
