(Pangshura sylhetensis)
The turtle roof of Assam (Pangshura sylhetensis Jerdon,1870) is a rare species of turtle of the family of Geoemididi.The carapace is noticeably elevated with a prominent vertebral keel and with evident serrated posterior margins,the maximum length is 180 mm.Its color is olive brown with yellowish or beige vertebral keel.The plastron is yellow with a brown stain on each scute.A narrow reddish-pink strip runs from the back of each eye to the middle of the back of the head,a second intense pink strip running from the jaw to the eardrum.On the neck there are some cream yellow stripes.Nesting is between October and February and 6 to 12 eggs are laid.The power supply is omnivorous.
