Description

It is very small,does not exceed 3 cm in length and has an elongated body and a very thin cylindrical section.The snout is short and rounded.The dorsal fin is very short (3 rays) and placed far behind,as well as the anal fin which has 4 rays.The caudal fin is small and rounded,the pectoral fins are smaller than in the other suckers while the ventral fins are joined to form the typical sucker of these fishes. The livery is deep green or (rarely) reddish or violet,with blue or white points and a dorsal white line almost always present.
