Description

The smoked paíño (Markham's Storm Petrel) is a species of bird procelariforme of family Hydrobatidae.It nests in the Paracas peninsula in Peru,and probably in other islands and the coastal desert of Chile.Its distribution area includes the coastal waters of Chile,Colombia,Peru and possibly Ecuador,Panama,Costa Rica,and French Polynesia.Its scientific name was given in honor of Albert Hastings Markham.Currently it does not have recognized subspecies.
