Description

The Ziff of Layard ( Mesoplodon layardii ) is a species of cetacean odontoceto of the Ziphidae family.It is a large zifio with one of the most peculiar dentures of any odontoceto.It receives its name in honor of Leopold Layard,South African museum curator who wrote the first description of a skull of this species.
