Claudius angustatus is a turtle species described by Cope 1865.Claudius Angustatus is the only one in the genus Claudius,which is part of the family of mussel turtles.The IUCN categorizes the species globally as close to threatened.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life. The species lives in the lowlands of Mexico,Belize and Guatemala.
