Description

The Blubberlip snapper, Lutjanus rivulatus, also known as Maori Snapper, is a species of snapper native to the Indian Ocean and into the Pacific Ocean as far east as Samoa. They inhabit waters over rocky substrates at depths from 50 to 100 m (160 to 330 ft). The maximum length is 80.0 cm (31.5 in), and weight reaches 11.0 kg (24.3 lb). The fish can be seen moving in single or small aggregations of about 10-20 individuals.
