The Australian Grallina ( Grallina cyanoleuca ) is a species of bird in the family flycatcher.It is a conspicuous bird of medium size Australia.Formerly it was located in a subfamily of the Dicruridae family.It is a common bird and is found throughout Australia except in Tasmania and portions of the inland desert in northwest Western Australia,and is well adapted to the presence of humans.It is also found in southern New Guinea.Inhabits both in rural and urban areasThe Australian grallina is about 28 cm long when adult,and its plumage is adorned with large black and white spots;males weigh between 64 to 120 g males,and females between 60 to 95 g.3 It is very common to see them in Australia;perched on telephone wires alone or in pairs,or patrolling areas of open land,especially on coasts or swamps.In the distance the sexes are similar but it is easy to distinguish them because the female has a white throat while the male has a black throat and a white "eyebrow
