Description

The pomarea iphis of birds (Aves) Department of passerine (Passeriformes) the order,including császárlégykapó-animals (Monarchidae) family of related species.The monarch of Uahuka is about 17 cm long.Its wing measures about 9.3 cm.In the adult males,head,back,rump,tail of the wings,upper mantle is of a black tone with a greenish tinge.The plumage is dark.Secondary feathers and especially tail feathers have a dark green glow.The wheelhouse pens are black.The lower part of the chest,the belly and the flanks are covered with mixed black and white feathers,which give the plumage a coarse mottled appearance.The iris is brown,the black beak with a bluish tint near the base.The legs are black soot.In the adult female the head and neck are olive brown with some scattered feathers on the forehead,crown and around the eye.The back,shoulder and rump are cinnamon brown.The springs are olive brown with narrow yellow-brown outer edges.The feathers have whitish inner edges and the secondary feathers inner edges and whitish edges.The wheelhouse pens are olive brown with wide yellow-brown edges and dots.The belly is whitish.The cheeks and throat are black streaked.The flanks,the chest and under the tail are yellow-brown.
