Description

The Canarian stonechat ( Saxicola dacotiae ) is a species of passerine bird of the family Muscicapidae endemic to the island of Fuerteventura,in the Canary The Canarian stonechat has an intermediate appearance between the common and northern stonechat.The size and shape of his body resemble that of a stylized robin.The upper parts of the body have a coloration similar to that of the northern stonechat,but with more contrast,dark brown with a blackish head and a striped back.It has a white superciliary list that reaches to the back of the eye and the neck sides also white.Its chest is orange and it fades as it moves towards the whitish belly.The bishopand the tail is dark,the latter with a white mark visible in flight.It also has a white band on the wings.The female is similar to the male but with more muted tones,with a brown striated head and without the white pattern of the neck
