Chinese ferret-badger

Description

The ferret rate of China is very similar to the ferret rate of Burma,more widespread in the south.The Chinese species has a head-body length of 30-40 cm.The tail,10-15 cm long,is less than half the body.Despite having a similar appearance,the ferret rate of Burmahas slightly larger dimensions.The weight varies between 0.8 and 1.6 kg.Like all ferret rates,it too has very thin body and elongated snout.The coat color varies from black to gray.In particular,on the head and neck,the dark background color contrasts surprisingly with the white areas of the facial mask,generally less extensive than in the Burmese ferret rate.However,the extension of the white areas is rather variable.Another distinctive feature of this species is the white line that runs along the top of the neck,less pronounced than in the ferret rate of Burma and which generally does not extend beyond the scapular region.The relatively thick tail is light brown and white at the end.The front legs have strong,very developed claws;the females have two pairs of breasts.Compared to the ferret rate of Burma,the ferret rate of China has smaller teeth
