Nycteris thebaica,Egyptian cleavage,is a bat mouse described by E.Geoffroy in 1818.Nycteris thebaica is part of the genus Hålnäsor and the Nycteridae family.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.Wilson & Reeder (2005) distinguishes between 8 subspecies.
